I first heard of St. Alphonsa yesterday by our parish priest who was present at her beatification. His sister, a Carmelite nun, sent a beautiful picture of her to our parish from India.

Dear St. Alphonsa – Pray for us !
In name of Jesus Christ, I am very happy to proclaim that my daughter who is in 10th standard is an average student started praying to St. Alphonsamma also her prayer life is become more strengthened. I used to worry that she is not praying as much as I expect from her. Now I am happy that I could feel and see the changes in her and being more close to god. I believe that this is just because of St. Alphonsa. A heartfelt thanks to our St. Alphonsamma in the name of Jesus Christ.

I am a 52yrs old house wife.I have been suffering from various ailments in my head , throat, ears and nose.One 1st October, i had a thorough checkup .According to the report, i Had perforation in my both left and right ears. With great dissapointment and pain, I went to Bharananganam in the following days. I placed my ears on the Tomb of Sr.Alphonsa and prayed for her intersession. Next day, I went to ENT specialist. In the examination, we found that the perforation has disappeared. And I am healthier now. Thank you St.Alphonsa in the name of Jesus.

12th October 2008 is day of happiness and celebrity for the catholic christian community in India especially in Kerala. It is a unique experience of every catholic christian in Kerala that they got their own St.Alphonsa. A great celebration for Catholic Church in India as this day is a mile stone for the generation to come. Alphonsa\\\'s humility, chastity and great faith should be the guidelines for all the people irrespective of their religion, caste, colour & community.
