The greatest tribute to the memory of Saint Alphonsa was to emulate the ideals of love and compassion for which she lived her short life of sufferings, penance and prayer. Former president A P J Abudul Kalam said addressing a meeting held at Bharananganam on 9th Nvember,2008, in connection with the 'thanks giving' celebrations to mark canonisation of Saint Alphonsa.
